Katlyn Boss is an artist from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in studio art with photography and graduated in May of 2020. She is from a small town in Union Grove, Wisconsin where she makes the connection between her surroundings and her own identity in her work. That has inspired her to create work that has been showcased at the 2019 Bay View Gallery Night at Revel Bar in Bay View, Wisconsin. Throughout her time in college she has been awarded scholarships such as the Greater Milwaukee Foundation Dorothy G. and Ruth Smith and Mary Van Deven Memorial Scholarships. Boss had the opportunity to work closely with Milwaukee based artist Ryan Lassieg, during the summer of 2019. She helped him create a layout for his book, edited his photographs, and took images for the Milwaukee Makers Market. The summer of 2019, Boss also worked on her own business by taking images for another person’s Instagram and photographing jewelry for the company Naked Without It.
